Yorktown announces 2024 Market Days themes

Yorktown will host the Pirate Invasion Market April 27-28 and the Vintage Market and Car Show May 11.

YORKTOWN––With sweeping views of the beautiful York River, it’s no mystery why Yorktown Market Days has been named one of Coastal Virginia Magazine’s Best Farmers Markets in Hampton Roads. The market is your one-stop shop for seasonal produce; scratch-made desserts, pastries, and ethnic foods; fresh poultry, eggs, and milk; beef, pork, and seafood; honey, jams, and sauces; flowers, plants, and herbs; coffee, tea, and fresh-pressed juices; Virginia farm wineries; high-quality art; and even gourmet dog treats!

The market’s 18th season begins on April 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. In collaboration  with York County’s Department of Public Works and the York County Beautification Committee, Yorktown Market Days will Go Green to encourage shoppers to reduce, reuse, and recycle to promote environmental sustainability. Complimentary reusable market bags will be available for the first 250 customers. Shoppers will have an opportunity to learn about eco-friendly methods and products with artists and vendors alike, and some businesses will offer recycling incentives at their booths for future purchases.

The market is a way for families of all economic backgrounds to access fresh, nutritious food as close to the source as possible—the region’s farmers, chefs, and food artisans. Yorktown Market Days is a proud participant in the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

This season several themed markets offer extended hours and additional family-friendly activities such as live music, educational programming, and performances by the Fifes and Drums of York Town. Highlights include, but are not limited to, the Pirate Invasion Market, Fun in the Sun Market, First Responders Market, Fall Festival, Yorktown Victory Market, and Paws at the River. The market runs Saturdays through the end of October, rain or shine, with the exception of May 4 and October 5.
