There is truly something for everyone and the down-home, laidback style makes it easy to stay and play in Rivah Country. Golf is a popular pastime for many in the area and there is no short supply of great courses to play a round. So get ready for tee time and take a swing at any of these great courses!

Gloucester Golf Course is a 9 hole golf course just minutes away from Gloucester Courthouse. The family-owned and operated course has been open since 1929 and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for both newcomers and pros alike.
The course features 3,025 yards of green from the longest tees for a par of 36. This flat course is easy to walk and water hazards come into play on four holes.  Approximately fifteen greenside sand bunkers have been incorporated into the course design. Add to this the tiny Bermuda greens, and you can see that the course serves up plenty of tests for shotmaking.

Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock has been rated #13 among courses in the state of Virginia.
The 18-hole course at Hobbs Hole features 6,700 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 71.8, and it has a slope rating of 125. The green is well maintained and offers a range of difficulty for golfers of all skill levels.

The Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield is another favorite golfing location for those visiting the Middle Peninsula. The 18-hole course has a uniquely beautiful layout that sets it apart from the rest and makes for a fun and challenging game. The front 9 holes are nestled among the trees and rolling hills giving it the feel of a mountain course. The back 9 are on flatter terrain with spectacular views of the Piankatank River.
The course measures 6751 yards with an overall par of 72. It has a slope of 130 and a rating of 73.6.
Visitors are welcome and memberships are available. As a visitor it is essential to reserve a space in advance.

Quinton Oaks in Callao is a hidden gem built on beautiful rolling farmland. The 18-hole course features holes that are out in the open, holes hidden among the woods, and holes alongside the course’s two lakes. The course was thoughtfully designed to cater to golfers of all skill levels and is “famous” for rounds that can be played in four hours or less.
Quinton Oaks features 6,090 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 67.4 with a slope rating of 118.

The Golden Eagle Golf Course at Tides Inn in Irvington is a scenic and enjoyable course that wraps around the property’s pristine 50-acre lake. From the championship tees, the Golden Eagle is 7,025 yards with a rating of 74.4 and a slope of 136. The course has varied elevations and well-placed bunkers making it fun and challenging for golfers of all skill levels. There are also water hazards at 3 of the holes.
The Golden Eagle is open to its members and the public. Tee times are required.

The course also has its own Golden Eagle Grill that serves up tasty lunch and dinner options.
