Sip and paint classes have been added to the Heritage Arts schedule

“Neurographic Art” will be offered in January.

Three Heritage Arts classes have been added to the schedule at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

Coffee-time Sip and Paint will return return January 12 with a session on creating “Neurographic Art.”

Developed by a psychologist in 2014, the neurographic art process engages both one’s emotional and aesthetic intelligence in order to produce a calming piece of art, reported executive director Corinne Becker. Prompts provided by the instructor, Celeste Johnston, will be offered to help to express emotions through lines and color.

No drawing or painting experience needed. The fee is $35, plus a $5 material fee. All equipment will be provided.

Coffee-time Sip and Art will offer “Fuzzy Valentines”on February 9. Johnston will teach students to felt hearts and other Valentine symbols as appliques, and make mug rugs, bookmarks, mug cozies, wall art, wrist warmers or small animals, said Becker.

The fee is $35, plus a $5 material fee. All equipment will be provided.

Coffee-time Sip and Paint will continue on March 8 with “March into Spring.” Students will create a botanically-correct painting of a shamrock or favorite spring flower, said Becker. Students will make a drawing, and transfer it to watercolor paper for painting.

The fee is $35, plus a $5 material fee. All equipment will be provided.

All sessions will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Tavern. To register visit www.RHHTFoundationInc.org, or call 580-3377.
