RFM Winter Lecture Series to open Jan. 6

NORTHUMBERLAND—The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum recently announced the 2025 Winter Lecture Series. Sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, 119 Main Street, Reedville.

The series will open Monday, January 6, with “Fish Tales” by fish boat model maker Eddie Rittenhouse. He will share tales and what inspired him to craft his models.

The series will continue on:

February 3 with “Oystering 101 by the Tidewater Oyster Growers Association.” Association representatives will offer the basics for “growing your own” oysters and “how to” get started with oyster cages.

March 3 with “The Sinking of the Glenna Fay.” with Ray Rogers. Peale Rogers and Stan O’Bier will discuss the risks and rewards of pound netting.
