WESTMORELAND—The Colonial Beach Community Foundation will host the fifth annual Northern Neck Beach Music Festival September 9 on Town Hill in Colonial Beach.
The festival features three bands, including Feature Attraction Band (F.A.B), a beach music favorite, at 11 a.m. followed by popular Motown Butta. This year’s headliner is The Catalinas, playing for the first time in Colonial Beach.
Beach Music Deejay Hall of Fame inductee and WWER 88.1 FM on-air personality, Craig Jennings, from the Beach Breeze & Groves Show, will lead shag dance lessons and dance contest. There will be a “Best Dressed Tent” contest with the winner receiving a free tent rental for next year. Food, beverages and Ingleside wines by the bottle will be sold during the day.
“This year will be our fifth Beach Music Festival in Colonial Beach! We’re excited to have Feature Attraction and Motown Butta back, plus The Catalinas for the first time,” said co-chairman Joyce Gunderson. “We just have a great time and it benefits the Colonial Beach Community Foundation.”
The festival is a fundraiser for the foundation, which raises money for community projects to enhance the quality of life for residents in and around Colonial Beach.
“Our goal is to showcase and share our community while having a great time. Each year the festival contributes to the foundation’s efforts to raise money to support local community needs,” said president Michele Inderrieden.
Tickets are $49. Tickets are available at www.nnbeachmusic.org or tinyurl.com/nnbmf2023. The event is rain or shine. Guests are urged to bring a chair. No outside food or beverages. Sponsorships and party tent rentals are available by contacting beachmusiccbva@gmail.com.
