Irvington Farmers Market returns to the Commons

LANCASTER—The Irvington Farmers Market will begin its 2020 season August 1 at the Town Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, Irvington.

The market, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., will feature some new vendors and welcome back many long-standing favorites, offering a rich variety of goods, produce, cut flowers, plants, baked goods, honey and beverages, said market coordinator Greg Kirkbride.

Vendors interested in participating in the market should contact Kirkbride at irvingtonvamarket@gmail.com, or 480-0697. The market is sponsored by the Irvington Village Improvement Association.

“Goods for the home and gift opportunities such as bird feeders and houses, wreaths, handmade jewelry, wooden cookware, metalwork, crochet art, photography and paintings, books, candles, fine furniture, oyster gardening and even face masks will be among the offerings of market vendors,” he said.

Participating nonprofit organizations also will bring valuable information. “We are especially looking forward to live music by the local favorites, Bill and Pam Gurley who entertain with a large variety of folk, bluegrass, and original tunes with “sweet vocals and acoustic instrumentation,” said Kirkbride.

The market is taking required measures to help safeguard patrons, vendors and organizations from COVID-19, including providing hand sanitizer stations, distancing of booths and visibly posting safety information.
